While DA leader Mmusi Maimane says his party has won the Tshwane metro in the local government elections, he did not want to comment on Johannesburg.
“I will wait a bit till I have a clearer picture,” he told reporters in Pretoria.
On the capital city, a beaming Maimane was happy.
He said while the final votes were still being tallied, it was positive news.
“Thank you to everyone and congratulations to new mayor,” he said.
Earlier today the ANC admitted defeat for the Nelson Mandela Bay metro to the DA.
The opposition also took Cape Town.
