After months of waiting, the South African Haj and Umrah Council (Sahuc) has released its haj accreditation on Thursday evening. Accredited hujaaj will have 10 days to accept or decline their accreditation, as well as choose an operator of choice.
Sahuc says tight deadlines imposed by the Saudi Haj ministry means that hujjaj cannot delay. The haj regulator says those who do not confirm in time, will be cancelled and the accreditation passed onto the next applicant in the queue. South Africa has a quota of 2000.
“I think the important thing is now that applicants accept their accreditation as soon as possible and complete their processes sooner rather than later, Inshallah,” said Sahuc president Shaheen Essop.
