MSA hosts Palestinian author in CT

Palestinian academic and author Dr Abdallah Ma’rouf is in Cape Town from the Wednesday 6th to Sunday 10th of August. Dr Ma’rouf holds a PHD in Islamic Jerusalem Studies and is considered an authority on the history of Al Quds in Palestine. He is being hosted by the Muslim Students’ Association of the Cape.

During his Cape Town visit, he will be conducting a workshop entitled “Ambassador for Al-Quds” on the 9th and 10 August at Masjidul Quds in Gatesville. The workshop is aimed at equipping participants with a broad knowledge and understanding of the Palestinian issue and empowering them to able to articulate the subject matter and positively advocate for the Palestinian cause.

His programme includes a high school symposium, lectures at the Universities of Cape Town and the Western Cape, and talks at various masajid.

Itinerary schedule:

Wednesday 6 August

13:00 Public Lecture at UCT, Leslie Social Science Building: “Israel, Jerusalem and the Identity Crisis”
18:30 Public Lecture at Pinelands Islamic Society: “Zionist desgins on Masjied Al Aqsa”

Thursday 7 August

18:30 Public Lecture at Masjdul Jumuah, Westridge Mitchells Plain: “Al Aqsa – Gateway to the heavens”

Friday 8th August:
Jumuah lecture at Zeenatul-Islam Musjid, District 6: “Al-Aqsa the barometer of the Ummah”

6:30pm Public lecture Masjid Al-Quds, Gatesville: “The liberation of Musjid Al-Aqsa as a strategy of Rasoolullah (SAW)”

Saturday 9th August:

9:00am Ambassadors for Al-Quds (break between 10am and 2pm to attend the Mass March for Gaza in town)
-2:00pm – 8:00pm Continuation of Ambassadors programme

Sunday 10th August:

9:30am – 5:00pm Ambassadors for Al-Quds Day 2
