It includes half hourly live traffic updates with our Bumber-to-Bumper traffic reporter, Sawmiet Moos. Other elements include news bulletins at 7 and 8am, a business slot at 8.15am, and the Open Lines hour where listeners get to have their say on their world. On alternate days, it is hosted by Jamiel Wallace, produced by Lutfia Carloo, with a stronger focus on Boland stories.

This popular women's program has been on air since 1999, hosted by Sulaila Appleby and produced by Lutfia Carloo between 10 and 12pm. It deals with different matters on different days of the week, starting on Mondays with Motivational Matters, a slot that Supports Organisations and the Let's Talk About Us hour when women have the chance to discuss pertinent social issues, with input from an expert. Tuesdays Growing Pains provides child-rearing advice followed by a sponsored Cooking slot. Housewives find worthy advice in the Hints & Tips/Gardening slot on Wednesdays, which precedes the sponsored Medical Hour. The family favourite, Q & A with Imam Faried Manie fills a religious sport on Thursday, by providing answers to the niggly questions most people are afraid to ask. Fridays, being the Muslim holy day, continue the religious focus with Call to Islam, a program that speaks to Muslim reverts, followed by Naseegha for Jumuah and Focus on the Quran.

SHOW: Newsbeat

CLASSFICATION: Weekday Actuality
This hard news show fills the slot between 12 and 12.45pm and is hosted by Safaa Dien. It follows a punchy news style by starting with the Midday News, including a Sports Bulletin by Lutfia Carloo at 12pm. It is followed by an update from a daily newspaper on its headline-making stories. In the second 15 minute, it moves on to the Sound Reports, which includes 2 - 4min soundbytes on various stories, ranging from international to local matters. The last 15 minutes contains live Beat Reports and editorials written by VOC's news staff, which allows them to comment on the stories behind the stories. The show is labour intensive and is produced by a team of up to 6 journalists, including reporters Lavern de Vries, Warda Sampson, Roldah Lee and Munadia Karaan.

On Fridays, due to Jumuah, the show ends at 12.15pm.

This slot is aimed at the little ones and is hosted alternatively by Nadia Gamieldien-Dramat and Safaa Dien. The half hour program which starts at 1.30pm, includes history and fiqh among others in the Islamic Corner, rhymes, games and stories along with educational content In the Playground. The show also goes out to various creches to record programs there and then present edited versions on air.

This dedication hour between 2 and 3pm is co-hosted by Nadia Gamieldien-Dramat and Moegamad Zain Majiet. Its tight format allows callers to phone in and post a minimum of two dedications within 45 seconds, or fax/email/post their written dedications to be read on air. It also concludes on an Inspirational Message of the day, but is best known for its blend of both local and international music, ranging from qasa-id to indian music and western instrumentals.
