After talking about critical wins for weeks The Warratahs have scooped a last-minute win over the Stormers at Newlands on Saturday defeating Stormers 32 to 30. In 2014, a Newlands victory handed them a championship-winning run. This time around it at least get things back on the rails and beyond.

Rob Horne was a critical defensive force for the Waratahs in Newlands but he also reminded everyone of his lethal attacking skills. In two weeks back from an injury, Horne has reclaimed his spot as one of the Waratahs vital players. Another try tonight and an incredible defensive effort was a boost for his side.

Kurtley Beale and Israel Folau snatched tries tonight as the Waratahs reminded everyone of their depth in attacking stocks. With these two firing it’s hard to believe the Waratahs won’t be embarking on a super resurgence as finals approach. Beale and Folau are both adapting after a rollercoaster start but the damaging duo will only grow in influence in the coming weeks.

Michael Hooper has been under pressure in recent weeks and played like a man possessed on Sunday morning. Hooper was man of the match in the tight contest, scoring the winning try. This is a relatively new Waratahs side, with so many fresh faces but they showed their ice cold composure in Newlands. The NSW team never gave up the fight against the Stormers. They chanced their arm and took opportunities when they presented. SA Rugby
