Christoff Becker, one of the “Waterkloof Four” convicted of killing a homeless man, has lost his latest court bid to get parole, Beeld newspaper reported on Thursday.

An urgent application before the High Court in Pretoria for him to be released on parole was set aside on Wednesday.

Becker’s lawyers had argued that he did not break his parole conditions when he allegedly made a video in the Kgosi Mampuru II prison in Pretoria shortly before his release on parole, alongside his co-accused Frikkie du Preez.

Becker and Frikkie du Preez had their parole revoked when a video emerged of the pair allegedly drinking alcohol and using a cellphone at the prison.

The Waterkloof Four — Du Preez, Becker, Gert van Schalkwyk and Reinach Tiedt — were released on bail on February 11 after being jailed for beating a homeless man to death in Pretoria in 2001.

Becker and Du Preez were sent back to prison on February 28. SAPA
