Flower season is officially in full bloom in Cape Town.

A number of nature reserves are blossoming with flowers like the Cape White Daisy, Vygies, Gazanias, Viooltjie and Bobbejaantjie.

Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment,, Marian Nieuwoudt, says reserves such as Tygerberg; Bracken; Witzands Aquifer and False Bay offer the perfect spots to enjoy the flowers.

Other areas in the city’s neighbourhoods where spring flowers have also started blooming include the Bothasig Nature Reserve, Durbanville Nature Reserve, Brackenfell and Strandfontein.

Nieuwoudt says the best time to view flowers is in the afternoon, while the sun is out.
