Two Mpumalanga men, Willem Oosthuizen and Theo Martins, accused of beating up farm worker Victor Rethabile Mlotshwa and forcing him into a coffin will be back in the Middleburg Magistrate’s Court.

The two men spent Christmas and New Year behind bars.

The incident happened last year in August and a video of the attack went viral on social media.

The accused initially stated that they would not apply for bail as they feared for their lives, and the State argued that they could possibly intimidate Mlotshwa.

Just before Christmas Day they subsequently filed an urgent bail application in the High court which was denied.
