Eskom has vowed there will be sufficient electricity supply over the winter period unless power stations experience breakdowns.

Last week the power utility escalated rolling blackouts to Stage 4, following a further deterioration of generation capacity.

Eskom spokesperson, Sikonathi Mantshantsha says power cuts are not expected for the rest of this week.

However, Mantshantsha further called on the public to use electricity sparingly.
