The South African Weather Service has warned of extremely high fire dangers conditions in the country’s windy western and northern side.
Extremely high fire danger condition can be expected in places over the interior of the Northern Cape, West Coast district, Central and Little Karoo as well as the northeastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
This warning comes after Cape Town’s Table Mountain on Sunday, 28 February, was alight once again in the dry, windy summer conditions.
Over two dozen firefighters and two helicopters swiftly put out a fire above on Devil’s Peak on Sunday morning, but the fire flared up again in the afternoon. Luckily, the fire was put down relatively easily once again, with the aid of three choppers and firefighters.
