George Louka, the man accused of killing Teazers boss Lolly Jackson, died on Monday evening, the department of correctional services confirmed.

Department spokesperson Manelisi Wolela said he could not give any further details at this stage.

“At this stage we can only confirm that [he has died]…,” he told News24.

The Cypriot had stage four lung cancer.

He was last seen in April in the High Court in Johannesburg where a request to send him back to Cyprus so he could die at home was denied.

At the time he sat in a wheelchair with an oxygen tank by his feet and a breathing mask over him.

Louka was a no-show in court on Friday as his lawyer claimed he was too ill to attend proceedings.

He was expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

Louka was extradited to South Africa last year to face several charges, including one relating to Jackson’s murder.

He denied killing Jackson and blamed Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir, who himself faces a murder charge, and who according to hi lawyers, is also gravely ill. News24
