Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Al-Asheikh, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, chairman of the board of senior Ulema and general president for religious research and Ifta, condemned Iran’s refusal to abide by the Shariah requirements and arrangements and regulations for organizing the Haj, Saudi Press Agency reported Wednesday.

He stressed that Allah has entrusted the Kingdom with care for the two holy mosques and all should obey and implement the arrangements made to organize this great ritual and facilitate the Haj for all Muslims. He said that whoever rejects the path for facilitating matters for the believers that Allah has urged us to abide by and whoever digresses from this path will be punished in the Hellfire.

This came in the weekly program ‘The Springs of Fatwa’ (Yanabee’ Al-Fatwa) broadcast Wednesday by Radio Nida Al-Islam from Makkah. The program is prepared and presented by Yazeed Al-Huraish.

He said if one contemplates on the Haj rites he will learn that this great pillar was ordained to glorify and worship Allah alone. It was not ordained in order to politicize it and exploit it for personal greed, but to obey Allah Almighty.

He stressed that Haj is performed in obedience to Allah Almighty. This obligation depicts Muslims’ unity of ranks, having the same opinion, obeying Allah, and coming from different parts of the world for the purpose of understanding, consulting and cooperating with one another for the interest of this world and the Hereafter. Haj creates a strong bond among Muslims – the bond of Islamic belief and brotherhood, whether they are from Europe, Asia or Africa.

Politicizing Haj is rejected whoever the perpetrator might be. This is impermissible.

  1. The Mufti is wrong. It is not Allah that put the King of Saudi on the throne. It was the British because the Ahl Saud collaborated with the British against the Ottoman State. The Pharoah did not come to power, in the Quran by the decree of Allh but by divide and rule.

The Saudis do a lot to make things as easy as going to Disneyland. However, they refuse Muslims from going to Hajj. Even the kuffaar did not do so in the Quran and the Sirah. The Mufti has nothing to say.

the Muft says that Hajj should not be politicised. It is utter nonsense. The Quran says that the Ka’abah is a place of refuge for people who rise up.
Hajj should be a platform where Muslims from all over the world discuss their issues. That was the role of Hajj in the days of the Prophet. That was the very reason why before the fall of Mecca the Quraish stopped the Muslims from Medina from performing Hajj. This is the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah. Unless one knows his/her Quran then this Mufti might actually sound reasonable.

In fact he is talking nonsense.

  2. I quote: “He stressed that Allah has entrusted the Kingdom with care for the two holy mosques and all should obey and implement the arrangements made to organize this great ritual and facilitate the Haj for all Muslims.”

Where does it state in the Quraan or hadith, that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has put them in charge of the entire Haj process?
