The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will be announcing the results of the 2021 municipal elections at 6pm today.

Officials are swiftly scanning and auditing the final ballot papers. The IEC said one of the biggest lessons learned during the latest election is to never attempt to do an election of this magnitude in such a short span.

The electoral commission added that it has so far received over 80 objections, mainly regarding the outcome of the election results.
