Investigation continues of butchered body

Delft police are continuing the investigation of a 30 year old man who had been butchered in Rossendal on Friday. The decomposing body of Ali Williams was found in his backyard toilet on Sunday afternoon.

His stepson Christopher Marcus came across the corpse after attempting to use the toilet.

Marcus found his stepdad’s body slumped over the toilet seat and the walls drenched in blood.

“When I went to the back I just saw my father sitting there, blood everywhere. He still sat in the backyard on Friday. He was still alive,” Marcus told media

Although Williams had been missing since the Friday, his sister Diana Simons say the family had not thought of reporting him gone.

Forensics had informed Ali’s family that the decomposing body had been in the cubicle for three days already.

Delft police station confirmed that a murder case was opened.

“Delft SAPS members were alerted to a murder which occurred on 10 January 2016 at 01:45am in front of a residence in Geelbosplain Roosendal Delft. Upon their arrival they discovered the body of a 30 year old male,” says spokesperson Captain Van Wyk.

Williams had been assaulted by a group of unidentified attackers, shot in the arm and later strangled.

“Investigation revealed that the deceased was accosted by unidentified attackers outside his house and sustained one gunshot wound to his left upper arm. It is further believed he was also strangled which possibly led to his death,” says Van Wyk.

The case remains under investigation. VOC
