Israel’s military says it has opened several criminal investigations into incidents that took place during last year’s Gaza war against  Hamas. In a statement late Thursday it says the Military Advocate General ordered six investigations, two of which were concluded with no wrongdoing found.

One case concerns the death of some 20 people who had taken shelter at a U.N. school in July. The Gaza war left more than 2,100 Palestinians dead, mostly civilians, according to Palestinian and U.N. officials. On the Israeli side, 66 soldiers and six civilians were killed. SAPA
