The Judicial Service Commission is expected to recommend Supreme Court of Appeal president Mandisa Maya for the position of chief justice. This is according to Advocate Dali Mpofu, who addressed the media from Johannesburg. Maya was among four senior judges shortlisted by President Cyril Ramaphosa. Should she land the job, she would make history as South Africa’s first woman chief justice. During her interview, Maya said South Africa is more than ready for women in top positions.
