A 27 year-old man drowned at Melkbaai, Strand in Cape Town on Saturday, the National Sea Rescue Institute said on Saturday.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon in a statement said at around 15:20 the NSRI Gordons Bay duty crew assisted Strand Lifesaving, Law Enforcement Marine, Western Cape Government Health EMS, ER24 ambulance services, the SA Police Services and Netcare 911 at Melkbaai, Strand where a 27 year-old man from Kuils River drowned while swimming.
The man was recovered from the water by lifeguards and despite extensive CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) paramedics have declared the man deceased, said Lambinon. News24
