Metrorail Western Cape has warned rail commuters of delays of over an hour on Monday morning following arson attacks on trains at Cape Town Station on Saturday.
A number of train services have also been cancelled.
Metrorail said five platforms (numbers 8-12) at the station are out of commission while repairs are conducted.
Trains will be held in a holding pattern outside Cape Town Station and will be allocated arrival and departure slots, which will cause delays.
There will also be platform changes.
A number of trains have also been cancelled, including services on the Northern, Central, Southern, Cape Flats and Monte Vista lines.
On Saturday, 37 trains were destroyed in the arson attacks, which Metrorail strongly condemned. Technical teams worked around the clock to repair as much of the damaged infrastructure before the Monday peak period, Metrorail said.
