New-born baby dumped in Delft

A new-born baby was found wrapped in a plastic bag in Delft, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.

Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana said police were called to Mingerhout Street in Delft South on Tuesday, after the baby was found.

“On their arrival at the scene members found a new-born baby wrapped in a green plastic bag. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.”

He said the police were investigating a case of concealment of birth. SAPA
