New Zealand police have confirmed that they have arrested a 40-year-old woman shortly after her three children were found dead in their family home.

The family was from South Africa and immigrated to the country about a week ago. The father allegedly found his three daughters’ bodies in the house last night.

Officials say the mother will appear in Timaru District Court soon. The cause of the girls’ deaths has not yet been confirmed.
