Just over 1.6 million Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in the Western Cape to date.

Premier, Alan Winde, says there are 328 vaccine sites across the public and private sectors in the province and mobile pop-up stations are being used especially in areas where registrations are low.

Winde says he is encouraged by the registration numbers in the 18 plus age bracket with 150 000 registrations on the first day.

There are currently over 41 000 active cases in the province with over 3 000 people receiving care in hospitals.
