Police are probing the contents of a video circulating on social media showing two men being assaulted in the presence of officers in Delft on the Cape Flats.

One of the men died while the other sustained serious injuries. The video shows two naked men being assaulted by community members while the police stand by and watch. T

he incident allegedly took place on the 25th of last month at the N2 Gateway in Delft. Six people have since been charged for murder and attempted murder and will appear in court again on the 9th of May.

The internal probe will also focus on the police’s initial response to the crime scene.
