Additional crews have been deployed to help fight a fire that raged through the night over Overberg in the Western Cape.
According to the municipality’s Reinard Geldenhuys, two helicopters and 30 groundsmen joined the crew on Sunday morning.
Roads were closed and traffic was diverted on Saturday due to the vegetation blaze along the Houwhoek pass.
Geldenhuys said they managed to reopen the N2 during the night and contained some of the lines.
No injuries have been reported so far. News24
