Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will answer oral questions in the National Assembly Thursday afternoon.

He is expected to explain what he will do to ensure that ministers attend all oral question sessions in the third and fourth term of Parliament.

On the eve of Ramaphosa’s appearance to the National Assembly, some members of the opposition expressed dissatisfaction with empty seats.

They accused ministers of not taking Parliament serious.

DA Chief Whip John Steinhussen says: “This is not a parliament holding its ministers accountable look at the benches we might just pack up and go home if the ministers don’t want to come here and account. We might just go home they are making a mockery of this parliament.”

They say there must be mechanisms to hold ministers accountable who fail to attend to oral question sessions.
