Limpopo businessman Rameez Patel, who is accused of the murder of his wife, is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Patel is out on R250 000 bail for the alleged murder of Fatima Patel, who was found dead in a pool of blood, with a gun wound to the head, in the couple’s rented apartment in Nirvana, a suburb in Polokwane, on April 10.

Six days later, he was arrested and charged with her murder.

During a previous court appearance, it emerged that the bloody clothes Patel wore on the day in question were still missing.

Investigators also told the court that they were still searching for the gun.

He is also facing a second murder charge in relation to the killing of Tony Adams in 2013. He was also released on R250 000 bail for that case.

It is alleged that Adams tried to break into Patel parents’ home. But Patel told the court that Adams was beaten by a mob instead.

He did, however, confirm that he visited the scene of the crime. News24
