The Cape Town city centre is expected to attract throngs of people for the highly anticipated Malay Choirs Parade on Wednesday and Thursday.

The City of Cape Town is expecting tens of thousands of people and on Tuesday cautioned residents that it would be implementing temporary road closures for Wednesday and Thursday.

“The annual Malay Choirs Parade is an intrinsic part of the cultural fabric of our city and is synonymous with Cape Town. Motorists are advised to please plan their trips accordingly,” the City said in a statement.

Some of the main road closures include Adderley Street, Wale Street, Long Market Street, Darling Street and Castle Street.

Municipal officials have also indicated that public transport into the city would run as normal.
