Every Ashra or phase of Ramadan has its particular significance associated with it. With respect to each of the significance, Muslims try pursuing that particular Ashra with that objective in order to achieve the established significance. First ten days of Ramadan has just come to an end and Muslims around the world has now entered second phase of Ramadan.
In this regard, the second Ashra of Ramadan is known for forgiveness. First 10 days were for Mercy, next 10 days are for forgiveness for sins and the last 10 days are for freedom from Hell-fire. Muslims whole-heartedly believes on the significance of each Ashra.
Second Ashra is dedicated to giving Muslims a chance to try to obtain forgiveness from Allah. Furthermore, the act of seeking forgiveness from Allah (S.W.T) is not just an effort of human being but in fact Allah returns the favor by forgiving such a person. In Quran, He says: “And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Surah An-Nisa; verse 106)
It is necessary for Muslims to revisit their lives in these days of Ramadan, even more than any other days. And this is the time we seek forgiveness and do rectifications for our mistakes, determined not to do them again.
