‘Son being questioned over murder of SABC board member Hope Zinde’

The son of former SABC board member and presenter Hope Zinde‚ whose body was discovered in the boot of her car at her home at an estate in Pecanwood near Hartebeespoort in North West on Saturday is reportedly being questioned by police over her murder.

SABC news said that North-West police spokesperson Sabata Mogkoabone could not divulge further details regarding the matter but said the victim’s 28-year-old son had been taken in for questioning.

Other media reports also quoted sources as saying that the son was being questioned.

And Crime Line SA head and media personality Yusuf Abramjee tweeted: “Hope Zinde’s son has been arrested in connection with her murder. Police have seized a quantity of drugs.”

A similar tweet from the Crime Air Network Initiative read: “MURDER : PECANWOOD. HARTEBEESPOORT. PTA. GP. BODY OF TV & RADIO PERSONALITY HOPE ZINDE FOUND IN BOOT OF HER CAR. SON ARRESTED.”

It is understood that Zinde‚ who was a former radio and television presenter‚ was murdered on Monday.
