Swedish tourists robbed in Khayelitsha

A Swedish tour group have been robbed in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.

“…[On Monday] around 11.40am a group of 17 Swedish tourists, a tour guide, and a driver were robbed at gunpoint by four armed suspects while they visited a crèche in Site C Khayelitsha,” Lt-Col Andrè Traut said.

The robbers fled with various items and cash. They had not been arrested by Wednesday 8am.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Traut would not immediately comment on a report that the armed robbers were believed to be children. SAPA
