Three men were shot dead when they allegedly tried to rob a wholesaler in Epping, Cape Town, on Friday afternoon, Western Cape police said.
Police were called when six men allegedly tried to rob the store at 13:30, Captain FC van Wyk said.
During the ensuing shoot-out, three of the suspected robbers were killed, one was wounded and two arrested. Three firearms and four cars which the robbers allegedly used, were confiscated.
No bystanders were injured in the shooting. News24
