Two due in court for murder of CT bakery owner

Two men are expected to apply for bail when they appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for the murder of Maitland bakery owner Manuel Correia.

The 72-year-old businessman was shot in the face during an armed robbery at the Broadway Deli and Confectionery in Voortrekker Road on August 14.

He later died in hospital.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said two suspects, aged 20 and 21, were arrested two days after the murder.

Asekho Bolo and Abongile Libazi briefly appeared in court on August 18. News24
