Two learners were stabbed and injured during an altercation at Lentegeur High School on Monday morning.

One learner was stabbed in the leg whilst the other was stabbed in the neck.

Minister of the Western Cape Education Department’s (WCED) spokesperson Jessica Shelver said a teacher accompanied the learners to a nearby hospital.

“SAPS (South African Police Services) were also requested to go to the school to conduct a search and seizure operation,” said Shelver.

The WCED sent councilors and psychologists to the school to help learners deal with the trauma.
