The Western Cape police’s Anti-gang Unit has been successful following up on information provided in Manenberg.

The unit was deployed in the area after the policing precinct which was declared a hot spot earlier. The operation follows a recent spate of killings in the neighbourhood.

A spokesperson, FC van Wyk, says yesterday two men were arrested in two separate incidents for the possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

The two men were apprehended in Rhone Walk in Manenberg, and will soon appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court.
