Western Cape Transport MEC Daylin Mitchell says the deadline for motor license renewals implemented by Transport minister Fikile Mbalula should be extended. The minister announced motorists have until the end of next month to renew their licences. Mitchell says South Africans are not to blame for the recent breakdown of the machine that prints the licence cards, and the period granted is not enough. He further added citizens should not be held accountable for government’s failures.
