The University of Pretoria on Tuesday obtained an urgent court interdict against those hampering registration processes at the institution.
“An urgent court order was obtained interdicting protesters from their unlawful actions to bring the situation under control and to allow students who have worked hard to be accepted at the University, and who have often travelled from far, to continue with the registration process,” said UP spokesperson Anna-Retha Bouwer.
The university said students and contracted workers from other institutions had on Tuesday gained entry to the Hatfield campus where they demonstrated against outsourcing at the university.
Meanwhile, talks between the university’s management and various stakeholders continued in a bid to reach a solution. News24
