A woman believed to be a member of the 28 gang has been arrested and charged with murder and dealing in drugs in Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Sunday.
“A notorious figure in the 28 gang grouping was arrested by members of Operation Combat, an initiative to break the back of gangsterism in the Western Cape,” said police spokesman Captain FC Van Wyk.
“She has been evading arrest for about two months and her apprehension is welcomed by the SA Police Service.”
The 27-year-old woman, from Bellville south, was arrested on Friday at a casino. She was charged with murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and dealing in drugs.
She is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court soon. SAPA
