Revisiting huge success in last year’s event, teams of enthusiastic Muslims have been invited for the second global da`wah day across the six continents  on Saturday, June 20.

“Global Da`wah Day is an International Da`wah Day that will happen on the June 20, 2015, where international teams across 6 continents globally will come together to do Da`wah Inshaa Allah,” Islamic Circle on North America (ICNA) said on its website.

“In light of the Charlie Hebdo and Garland shootings, where satirical caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) provoked a violent reaction, negative perceptions of Muslims fanned by the media and politicians has in many cases led to Islamophobic attacks.“

As a follow-up to last year’s event, again this year Global Da`wah Day will be held on June 20, 2015, the first Saturday of Ramadan. The world’s first Global Daw`ah Day last July 5 was planned by the Islamic Education & Research Academy (IERA).

Under the title, “What’s Your Goal?”, the campaign was designed to convey the message of Islam while collaborating with other organizations and fellow Muslims.

This year’s campaign was designed under the slogan “Who Do You Love?” to share with the world why Muslims love Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Those registered received training on the day, learning how to share with others why Muslims love Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and why they should love him.

The event include activities such as street da`wah, da`wah booths, invite your neighbor, masjid open house, community clean-up and soup kichen.

“Let June 20th be the seed that begins the conversation on Islam with your co-workers, neighbors, friends and many more. Let’s do our part in sharing the gift we are blessed with. It defines who you are!” an invitation to the event was shared on YouTube.

“June 20th is the day when the entire world comes together – across six continents, numerous countries – teams will be doing street da`wah.”

Why Islam is one of the outreach projects supported by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). The effort is not the first by ICNA to present an accurate image of Islam.

In 2012, the organization offered free copies of holy Qur’an as well as Islamic pamphlets in front of public libraries as part of its campaign. The pamphlets covered a number of subjects, including the relationship of Muslims to Christians and Jews, human rights, status of women, the afterlife, worship and one titled “What does Islam say about terrorism?”
