Four suspected robbers have been shot and wounded by police in Goodwood. Members of the flying squad followed up on information of a stolen vehicle driving in the area.

The driver of the vehicle sped-off in an attempt to evade their arrest when a high speed chase ensued. Police spokesperson, Noloyiso Rwexana says the suspects shot at the police who retaliated.

Four suspects were shot and wounded, and were transported to hospital under police guard for treatment.

Rwexana says officers confiscated two prohibited firearms, ammunition and the vehicle that was reported stolen in in Muizenberg.

Once charged, the suspects are expected to appear in the Goodwood magistrate’s court.
