A 45-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment after he shot and killed a taxi driver in 2018.

Phendile Velem was found guilty of murder in the Bellville regional court yesterday after a lengthy investigation.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile lauded the investigating officer for his commitment and dedication to ensure a safer community.
