A request by the media to visit President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla residence, with parliamentary committee members, has been denied.

Media24 made a special request to the parliamentary ad hoc committee on Nkandla for permission to accompany it when it visits the president’s house on July 22.

The committee’s inspection of Nkandla is part of its investigation after Police Minister Nathi Nhleko’s controversial Nkandla report.

In a letter to Media24, committee chairperson Cedric Frolick said he could not approve the request because he did not have the legal authority to allow the media to enter the president’s private residence. News24
