National search organization Pink Ladies says a missing man from Maitland has not been found, contrary to reports on social media on Saturday. 65 year old Fareed Simon was reported missing in the Maitland area on Friday at 6.30am and reportedly suffers from dementia. It’s not the first time he has disappeared.
Pink Ladies spokesperson Dessie Rechner says Maitland neighbourwood watch and CPF volunteers were involved in a ground search on Sunday morning.
Simon is said to be of average build, is 1.7 metres tall and weighs about 75 kilograms.
“He has brown eyes that are far apart and a bit slanting. He has black hair, a grey beard and moustache. He has upper front teeth missing, thick lips and protruding ears,” Rechner described.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a plain beige t-shirt with a grey track pants and black sandals. He also has a Mona Lisa tattoo on his right arm.
