Suspects arrested for being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition

Steenberg police arrested a 30-year-old suspect for being in the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition last night in St Bernard Crescent, Lavender Hill.

Police were busy patrolling the streets when they noticed a suspicious looking man. The suspect was apprehended by the police after being searched and was found in possession of a 38 special revolver with ammunition.

The suspect is due in the Wynberg Magistrates court on Monday.

In an unrelated story a man was arrested by Delft police after he was found in possession of two firearms and drugs in Freedom Farm last night. After receiving a tip-off police searched a dwelling and found two Rubi revolvers without serial numbers and drugs. The man faces charges of possession of illegal firearms and possession of drugs.

Furthermore, a suspect was arrested by Delft police for being in the possession of a zip gun and ammunition in Maartlelie Street, Roosendal last night. Police caught the man with the homemade firearm when they were busy patrolling the area. After being charged the suspects will appear in the Bellville Magistrates court.
