Zuma withdraws bid to stop release of State Capture report

President Jacob Zuma has withdrawn application to stop the Public Protector’s report on so-called State Capture to be released.

The report relates to allegations that the wealthy Gupta family played a role in appointing cabinet ministers and directors of state-owned enterprises.

Opposition parties believe that former Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela’s report on the matter has made adverse findings against President Zuma and two of his cabinet ministers, hence their need to block it.
