Cape Town Mayor, Dan Plato, has appealed to residents to observe adherence and do everything to flatten the second peak of infections to avoid the City being declared a COVID-19 hotspot.
In wishing residents a safe festive season, Plato says while beaches in the City remain open, residents must respect the national regulations that have been put in place:
“Be safe, don’t drink and drive, adhere to the measures. Wear your mask, wash your hands quite often, adhere to a safe distance. If we all play our part, play our role jointly we can overcome Covid 19, we don’t want to get into a more dramatic hotspot level that will mean stricter regulations. We want to prohibit that from happening.”
