The cyclists in the Cycling for Charity Campaign will continue the second leg of their journey this Sunday with another 50km race. The VOC initiative will see cyclists of the community coming together to cycle 50km every week for nine consecutive weeks with a goal of completing 500km to raise funds for the station’s Bursary Fund. The campaign is led by Auric Auto’s sales executive, Shiraaz Mia.
“With another 50km coming up we will be counting down the kilometres as the weeks progress,” says VOC sales manager Hassiem Bastra.
Mia spearheads a group of cyclists on a route from the Auric Auto dealership in Claremont, towards Jubilee Square in Simons Town. All members of the community are welcome to join in and take part in the campaign.
“It is open to all who wants to join,” says Bastra.
If you would like to join the cyclists meet them at Auric Auto in Claremont at 7am this Sunday. Anyone wishing to donate towards the initiative can deposit it into the VOC bank account.
VOC will be linking up with Mia every Sunday morning at 7:30am as well as conducting a progress update at 8:55AM. VOC
